Welcome

Today North turned one. We celebrated with cake and family and as this day passed, I reflected on my thoughts during this time last year. I think as all parents do, I had no idea what to expect as my first child arrived. I had prepared myself for labor, that went awesomely well, but I didn't have a clue (besides vague intended child-rearing philosophies) as to what a new child would bring to us. North arrived with his spirits high and his voice roaring! He was confused as to his surroundings, yet aware of his feelings and what he needed from his dad and I. We were a bit slower to understand as time passed, yet by remaining patient and intuitive, we soon became confident. Or did the confidence only begin yesterday?
